Individual Applications
Officers and first responders who are personally interested in the Resiliency Leadership and Emotional Recovery Coach Certificate are encouraged to apply.
Who This Path Is For
Individual applications are a good fit for officers who:
Want to grow as leaders
Value peer support and mentoring
Understand the impact of cumulative stress
Want practical resilience tools
Are ready for the 85-hour training program
Department Awareness
Department sponsorship is not required. When appropriate, applicants are encouraged to let a supervisor or training coordinator know they are applying.
Begin Your Individual Application
Please complete the application form below. It should take about 10–20 minutes.
Agency leadership plays an important role in identifying personnel who may benefit most from this program. While participation in the Resiliency Leadership and Emotional Recovery Coach Certificate should remain voluntary, command staff, training supervisors, and peer support leaders are often in the best position to recognize individuals who have the potential to apply these tools effectively within their teams.
Leaders may wish to encourage officers to apply if they have demonstrated strengths such as:
Being a trusted peer that colleagues turn to for advice or support
Serving as an informal mentor to newer officers
Participating in peer support, training, field training officer (FTO), or leadership roles
Demonstrating an interest in officer wellness, leadership development, or team resilience
Showing the ability to communicate effectively during challenging situations
Officers who already demonstrate these qualities often become the most impactful participants because they are naturally positioned to bring resilience and coaching skills back into their units and agencies.
At the same time, it is important that participation remains a personal choice. Officers who apply because they are genuinely interested in developing these skills tend to engage more deeply in the program and are more likely to apply what they learn within their professional environment.
Agencies that support motivated participants in this program are investing in personnel who can help strengthen leadership capacity, peer support culture, and long-term resilience within the profession.
Organizational Applications for Departments
Departments that wish to participate in the Resiliency Leadership and Emotional Recovery Coach Certificate may submit an organizational application for multiple candidates.
While individual officers are welcome to apply on their own, agencies that enroll a small group of participants often experience greater impact because the tools and concepts introduced in the program can be reinforced within the organization as a team.
Departments may submit an organizational application when four or more officers or leaders are interested in participating in the program.
Benefits of Participating as a Department
When agencies send multiple participants, the program can support:
Shared understanding of resilience and coaching tools across the team
Stronger peer support and leadership conversations within the department
Greater opportunity for participants to practice and reinforce the concepts together
Increased potential for sustainable integration of resilience practices within the agency
Departments that participate with multiple candidates often include personnel from areas such as:
Leadership and command staff
Peer support teams
Field training officers (FTOs)
Wellness or officer support initiatives
Supervisors interested in strengthening leadership communication and resilience
How to Submit an Organizational Application
Command staff, training coordinators, or agency representatives may request an organizational application packet for departments interested in enrolling multiple participants.
To begin the process, please submit the department application. Our team will provide additional information regarding organizational enrollment, pilot program participation, and cohort availability.
Departments that participate in the pilot phase will also have the opportunity to contribute valuable insight into how resilience coaching tools can be integrated within operational law enforcement environments.
Public safety professionals operate in environments where prolonged crisis exposure is part of the job. Over time, cumulative stress, operational trauma, and the constant demand for high-performance decision-making take a significant toll. Agencies across the country recognize that traditional approaches to wellness and resilience training are no longer sufficient to meet the realities of the profession.
This program addresses that reality directly. The Resiliency Leadership and Emotional Recovery Coach Certificate introduces structured, evidence-based coaching competencies that support:
Officer Resilience
Stress management and healthy processing of cumulative stress exposure
Leadership Communication
Coaching-based techniques for team support and professional development
Peer Support
Early intervention conversations and supportive engagement before problems escalate
Cultural Shifts
Long-term transformation around wellness and leadership integrated into daily interactions
The goal is not simply to talk about resilience—but to develop professionals who can actively strengthen it within their organizations.
What Agencies Gain
When agencies support participants in this program, they are investing in leaders who bring practical resilience and coaching tools back into the workplace.
Stronger Leadership Communication
Coaching-based techniques that improve conversations around stress, performance, and professional development.
Early Intervention & Peer Support
Ability to recognize stress indicators and engage in supportive conversations before problems escalate.
Improved Team Resilience
Tools integrated into daily leadership practices to support stronger team dynamics and long-term wellness.
Sustainable Internal Resources
Personnel trained to apply resilience and coaching strategies within existing organizational structure rather than relying solely on external resources.
Culture Change from Within
Strategies designed to align with law enforcement culture and operational realities, increasing the likelihood of meaningful adoption.

Program Structure
Pilot Program Overview
This program is built for professionals who want to do more than attend training. It is designed for those ready to develop the skills necessary to strengthen resilience within themselves, their teams, and the profession as a whole.
This cohort represents the initial pilot implementation of the Resiliency Leadership and Emotional Recovery Coach Certificate within the public safety community.
Purpose #1
Provide participants with advanced resilience and coaching competencies grounded in International Coaching Federation (ICF) standards.
Purpose #2
Gather professional insight from participants regarding real-world application within law enforcement environments.
Structured Feedback Areas
Throughout the program, participants will provide structured feedback and professional observations regarding:
Practical Application
Coaching competencies applied in public safety environments
This feedback will ensure future iterations remain operationally relevant, culturally appropriate, and effective within the realities of the profession. The insights provided by pilot participants will contribute to a training model designed to support officers, agencies, and communities for years to come.
Our Commitment
The Standard We Are Setting
Resilience within the profession is strengthened when officers and leaders are equipped with practical tools, structured coaching competencies, and the ability to support meaningful conversations about stress, performance, and recovery.
For too long, resilience has been addressed through short trainings, isolated wellness initiatives, or reactive interventions after problems have already emerged. While well intentioned, those efforts often fail to produce lasting change because they do not provide professionals with structured skills that can be used in daily leadership and peer interactions.
This program is built on a different premise. Participants are not simply completing another training requirement. They are helping establish a model that recognizes:
The Reality
Cumulative stress exposure in public safety professions demands a serious response
The Approach
Evidence-based methods for resilience and leadership are essential
The Investment
Developing internal capability within agencies to support officer well-being
The standard we are setting is one where resilience is not treated as an optional topic, but as a core leadership competency—one that supports healthier officers, stronger teams, and more sustainable careers in public safety.
Participants who complete this program are part of a growing movement of professionals who recognize that the future of the profession depends not only on operational excellence, but also on the ability to lead people through the realities of the work.
This program represents a step toward that future. Your participation in this pilot cohort is an investment in the long-term health of the profession.
